          Installation & Uninstallation

1-1 I cannot click the [Next] button to input my serial number; it seems to be disabled. Or I cannot continue installing; the message "The serial number is wrong" appears after clicking [Next].
1-2 Can I install neoRECORDER and other Audio/Data Recording software applications on the same PC?
1-3 I cannot install the updater I downloaded from the MedioStream Website.
1-4 I want to install neoRECORDER 7, but I have neoRECORDER/neoRECORDER 5 installed. Do I need to uninstall neoRECORDER or neoRECORDER 5?
1-5 [Windows 2000 & XP] When I try to install neoRECORDER 7, I get a message telling me that I "need to log on using an Administrator account to install."
1-6 I cannot download the updater.
1-7 When downloading the updater, I have a choice to [Open] or [Save]. Is it safe to select [Open]?

          Launching the Application

2-1 I get a message that there are no drives connected when I launch neoRECORDER
2-2 The message "The ASPI Manager has not been installed" appears when I launch neoRECORDER
2-3 [Windows XP] When I launch the application, the window's resolution automatically changes to fill the whole screen.
2-4 The message "The B.H.A CDR/CDRW control program running" appears when I try to launch neoRECORDER
2-5 [Windows 2000 & XP] I am using a computer with a VIA KT266, KT333, or KT400 chipset and I can't launch neoRECORDER 7. The system hangs.
2-6 The screen freezes neoRECORDER 7 is launched or it does not launch properly when a USB removable card reader is connected to the PC.
2-7 I get a message asking me to insert a disc into Drive X (drive letter) when I launch neoRECORDER 7.
2-8 [Windows 2000 & XP] I cannot launch neoRECORDER 7 on a computer with a nForce2 chipset motherboard. I get a blue error window.
2-9 When I launch neoRECORDER 7, I get a message that "a new device was added" and that I should restart Windows.
2-10 [Windows 98 SE & XP] The windows are not displayed properly, e.g. the buttons are black or the windows are broken.
2-11 [Windows 2000 & XP] When I try to launch the software, a blue screen appears for an instant, then Windows restarts automatically.
2-12 [Windows 2000 & XP] I cannot launch neoRECORDER 7 on a computer with an ATA extension board. I get a blue error screen.
2-13 [Windows 2000 & XP] When I try to launch neoRECORDER 7, the computer freezes and I get a blue screen with an error message that says something is wrong with the "mmc_2k.sys" file.
2-14 [Windows 2000 & XP] When I try to launch neoRECORDER 7, the computer freezes and I get a blue screen with an error message that says something is wrong with the "dvd_2k.sys" file.

          General Recording Issues

3-1 I cannot select the recording speed. The spec recording speed is not displayed for the DVD drive I have connected.
3-2 A SCSI/ATAPI error occurs during recording. (All errors except transfer speed errors.)
3-3 My recording is terminated or my PC hangs while recording.
3-4 neoRECORDER unexpectedly terminated and my hard disk has occupied space on it.
3-5 A message "Cannot control the CD-ROM drive" appears when recording.
3-6 Do I have to enable the [Copy Permission] option under the [Track Information] tab of the [Track Properties] window to copy data from a CD I created?
3-7 Can I save the disc directory of the files I added to neoRECORDER 7?
3-8 I cannot select [Simulate Only] or [Simulate then Record] on the Record Settings window.
3-9 I cannot record onto a disc that has data written on it using packet-writing software.
3-10 What is the difference between "Verification" and "Comparison"?
3-11 My computer freezes when I click the [Record] button.
3-12 When recording additional data onto a disc, I set it so that files with the same file names will be overwritten, but the old file did not get overwritten with the new file.
3-13 I recorded additional data onto an already recorded disc in TAO, but I cannot view the old data.
3-14 Can I open, change and save files that were recorded on a disc?
3-15 Can I create a bootable disc using a set of bootable Windows XP boot floppy disks?

4-1 How do I record in ISO Level 2?

          Audio Recording Issues

5-1 I cannot record additional audio data (WAV) files.
5-2 When I try to add WMA files I get the message: "This audio file is copyrighted protected."
5-3 An audio CD I recorded in DAO contains gaps between the tracks.
5-4 Which drives support CD TEXT?
5-5 My CD player does not show CD Text.
5-6 I cannot edit or record CD Text, even though the drive supports CD Text.
5-7 The Windows standard CD Player does not show CD Text.
5-8 The drive will play the audio CD, but I can't hear anything.
5-9 I cannot play the audio CD I created with a CD-RW disc on a standard audio CD player.

          MP3 & Rip Function Issues

7-1 When playing back a MP3 CD on an MP3 player, the playback order is that of the disc, but what order are they recorded onto the CD?
7-2 I want to record a load of MP3 files onto one CD, but I can only fit about 10 files.
7-3 Is the Rip function in neoRECORDER 7 the same as the Rip function in neoRECORDER 5?
7-4 Do I need to have a recording drive connected to use the Rip function?
7-5 The program unexpectedly quits at the image file creation (extracting) stage of creating an audio CD using MP3 files.
Or I get one of the following errors when creating an audio CD using MP3 files: "An unexpected error occurred while ripping the sample" or "An unexpected error occurred in the MP3 decoding engine."

          Direct Cut Issues

8-1 The audio CD I created using the Direct Cut function will not play.
8-2 I get an error telling me that the "device to read auxiliary audio (is) not found" when I try to use the Direct Cut function.
8-3 I put a disc in the drive, but I get a message telling me that there is "no blank CD-R inserted".

          DVD Recording Issues

10-1 How do I create a DVD-Video?
10-2 The DVD-Video image is less than 4.7 GB in size, but I get an error message saying that there is not enough disc space.
10-3 I want to close a DVD+RW disc, so no additional data can be recorded onto it, but the [Close CD] option is gray.
10-4 I can only create a [VIDEO_TS] folder using authoring software. Can I create a DVD-Video without a [AUDIO_TS] folder?
10-5 I cannot view the DVD I recorded on a DVD-ROM drive.
10-6 Is there a limit to the file size of the data to be recorded onto a DVD?
10-7 My PC freezes when I record onto a DVD disc. The Task Manager says the program is not responding.
10-8 I get an error message, "An error occurred in converting the multiplexor" when creating a DVD-Video.
10-9 I have free space on my DVD-R/RW or DVD+R disc, but I cannot record additional data onto it.
10-10 Why is the disc capacity of a 4.7 GB DVD shown as 4.3 GB?
10-11 When I play a DVD-Video I created on a home DVD player, the screen is split vertically.
10-12 I get an error message saying that "the current track structure cannot be recorded onto a DVD (R/RW)."
10-13 I get an error message saying that "the current track structure cannot be recorded onto a DVD+RW/RAM."
10-14 I cannot play the DVD-Video disc I created with a DVD-RAM disc on my DVD player.
10-15 What does the "Emphasize the reading compatibility" option, which appears in the Option Properties when I connect a DVD+RW/R drive, mean?

          HD Backup Issues

11-1 What methods can I use to back up my HD?
11-2 I cannot check the [Compression] box, as it is grayed out.
11-3 I cannot select the partition in HD Backup. (There is nothing to select. I can select the drive.)
11-4 The HD Backup function freezes when the partition selection window appears.
11-5 How do I create a bootable disk?
11-6 I launched the program on the restore floppy disk, but I get an error, "HIMEM Error: NO Extended Memory!"
11-7 I want to use the restore CD I create with the HD Backup function to set up multiple PCs.
11-8 I am using the HD Backup function to back up onto DVD, and I am asked to insert the next disc when only 3.99 GB of data has been backed up onto the current disc. Is it possible to record the DVD to capacity?
11-9 I cannot set the recording speed when backing up the hard drive onto DVD discs. What speed will the discs be recorded at when backing up onto a DVD disc?
11-10 Can I restore a backup to a hard drive that is larger than the original hard drive?
11-11 I don't have a floppy disk drive, so I can't create a bootable disk. How can I restore my HD backup?
11-12 After restoring the backup is complete, I get a message telling me that "Restored complete, press any key". I press any key, but nothing happens.
