How do I record in ISO Level 2?

neoRECORDER 7 does not support ISO Level 2. There is no setting to create an ISO Level 2 compatible disc, but you can create one using the following method.

* Since neoRECORDER 7 does not support ISO Level 2, the file name compatibility option is invalid. You will need to check whether the file names are compatible or not.

  1. Add all the files to be recorded into the Data Edit field.
  2. Open the Options window.
  3. Select [Windows 95, 98, Me (Romeo)] under [OS Compatibility] on the [Track] tab.
  4. Check that all the file names are ISO Level 2 compatible. Valid characters are capital letters (A-Z), numbers (0-9) and the underbar (_).
  5. Click [Record].

I cannot launch an autorun file from disc.

Please verify that the [Document] box is enabled in the autorun settings window to utilize files with the TXT, HTML, DOC, BMP or JPG extensions. Animation files (AVI, MPEG and MOV extensions) are also autorun compatible, but the PC the disc is to be inserted into must have applications that will run these programs installed. If the autorun file is inside a folder, you need to specify the file's full path which includes the folder name, e.g., when specifying "index.htm" in the "Test" folder, the full path would be "Test\index.htm".

Is there any problem with copyright if I want to use the CD/DVD I created with the autorun function as a master to press other discs?

If you select a document file as the autorun file, [BSEXEC.exe] that is used to launch the file is also recorded onto the disc. This program is copyright free, so you can distribute the CD/DVD freely.

What characters can I use in the volume name?

To make the disc ISO9660 compatible, you can input a maximum of 32 characters in the volume name.

If you have specified [MS-DOS, Win 3.1/95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP (Joliet)] in the Options [Track] tab, the volume name uses 2 bytes per character, so the maximum number of characters is 16.

If you have specified [Win 95/98/Me (Romeo)] in the Options [Track] tab, the volume name uses 1 bytes per character, so the maximum number of characters is 32.

You can create an ISO9660-compatible disc using neoRECORDER 7. You can use d-characters only in the volume name as specified by the ISO9660 standard.

Why is the total size of the added files and the actual disc display different?

This is because session or border information is also recorded onto the disc along with the data.
