My neoSTUDIO hangs when I try to launch any of
the modules from the Taskbar. What can I do to resolve this
problem?
In most cases, if the application crashes or hangs it is
caused by a conflict or a problem between drivers that are
being used, please update the following key components that
play a major role in multimedia processing.
Note: If you already have the latest version installed on
the system, it is possible it could be corrupted, which could
cause this problem as well. Please re-install to make sure
a proper and stable version is installed on the system.
1. Basic System Cleanup
- Scan Disc all available Hard Drives
- Clean Temp Directory
- Defrag the boot and source drive (For performance)
2. Download and install latest drivers for the System:
- Motherboard Chipset
- Video Driver
- Sound Card Driver
- DVD Recorder Firmware
3. Download and install latest drivers for the Operating
System:
- Microsoft Service packs and any updates for your Operating
System.
- Multimedia Drivers and Application including MS Media
Player and DirectX
- Re-install neoSTUDIO

I am unable to install neoDVD on my computer.
What do I do?
There are several fixes for installer issues, please refer
to the following checklist.
CHECKLIST FOR INSTALLER
- Update stdole32.tlb in C:\windows\system32. Replace the
file found there with the original on the system Windows
Installation CD.
- Insufficient permission on the machine. If you are using
a Windows 2000 machine, you need to have administrative
permission to run an InstallShield Professional 6.x setup.
Make sure you have the correct permission.
- If you just ran an InstallShield setup, the engine takes
a few seconds at the end of the installation to clean up.
During this time Ikernel.exe (the engine file) is running
in memory from a previous process; that is why you are not
allowed to launch another setup. Waiting a few seconds and
running the setup again should resolve this.
- Check and make sure Ikernel.exe is not in memory; if it
is and no setup is running at the time, end that task.
- Clean the temp directory.
- Delete the Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine
folder and then rerun the setup.
- Reinstalling Internet Explorer 6.x can also repair a number
of corrupted/missing core windows files from your machine.

I get an error message that says "CD Key
is not valid" after I entered the product key that came with
my neoDVD software
The CD Key is located on the case or envelope that holds
the Install CD or in your Electronic Software Delivery (ESD)
Order Confirmation e-mail. While entering the CD-Key, it is
important not to confuse the letter 'O' for the number '0'
or the lower-case letter 'l' for the number '1'.

How to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP

| b. |
Create a new folder at the root of a hard disk volume,
and then name it "Flatfile" (for example, C:\Flatfile).

C:\Flatfile folder. To do this, follow these
steps: |
- In Windows Explorer, click the CD-ROM icon (or DVD-ROM
icon) containing the CD-ROM.
- On the Edit menu, click Select All.
- Paste all the files into the new folder. To do this,
drag the selected items on the right side of the Explorer
window into the C:\Flatfile folder on the left.
NOTE: If there are errors during the copy process,
this can indicate problems with the CD-ROM (media),
a dirty CD-ROM drive, or a problem with your hard disk.
Restart your computer the way that you typically do,
and then install from the C:\Flatfile folder onto your
hard disk.

When I try to install the 4.1 software
update a message pops up: "Unable to proceed with neoDVD upgrade
installation. You do not have a correct version of neoDVD
installed. Please make sure that you have neoDVD version 4.0
already installed on your PC before proceeding with the update
installation".
The 4.1 software update is only applicable to neoDVD 4.0
users. If you do not have version 4.0, you will not be able
to install the 4.1 software update.
To verify which version of neoDVD is installed on your computer,
click on the "?" in the upper right hand corner of the neoDVD
application and select the "About" option. The exact version
will be in the title bar of the pop up window.
