What is a “DVD VR” disc? Top
|
- A “DVD VR” disc has the following characteristics:
- It is a DVD-R, DVD–RW or DVD–RAM disc.
- It was recorded using the “DVD VR” Video Recording format.
- It is usually created by DVD camcorders or DVD recorders.
- The DVD VR “Video Recording” format was created to allow for real time recording of video on DVD recordable discs. The “DVD VR” format specification is different from the “DVD video” format specification commonly used by the non recordable “Hollywood movies”. Because of the difference, DVD VR discs do not play back on all DVD players and need to be converted into DVD video discs for optimum playback compatibility.
- The documentation of your DVD camcorder or DVD recorder should specify the recording format of your discs.
-
The following logos also indicate that your device is capable of recording in the DVD VR format.
