On August 28, 2007, MedioStream, Inc. filed suit in the United District Court, Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division, against Acer America Corp., Apple Computer, Inc., Dell, Inc., and Gateway, Inc., for infringement of U.S. Patent No. 7,009,655-B2. The '655 Patent for "Method and System for Direct Recording of Video Information onto a Disk Medium" was issued on March 7, 2006, and assigned to MedioStream, Inc. The inventor was Qiang Huang.

"MedioStream has been damaged by the infringement and will continue to be damaged unless enjoined by this court," the original complaint states. MedioStream, Inc. is seeking damages, interest, attorney fees and other reliefs deemed just and proper by the court.
